Sorcha is a qualified privacy risk management expert, experienced facilitator, digital strategist, project manager, coach and brand communicator; this experience helps her understand how the regulation really impacts a company's marketing, IT, cyber security and operations.
As the founder of Sympatico, Sorcha advises large and small businesses on GDPR, digital risk and information management, privacy frameworks, digital strategies and brand resilience. Sorcha had substantial experience with data protection and data risk management at Standard Life where, as Global Head of Digital, Sorcha was the key liaison point between legal, procurement, risk, security and brand on a number of strategic projects. Prior to her leadership role at Standard Life, Sorcha worked for digital and creative agencies like Amaze Realise where she was Client Services Director.
Sorcha takes a balanced and pragmatic perspective: she likes to understand the technological and regulatory context, the brand and marketing imperative, and combine that to understand how data regulation impacts the whole of an organisation. Once a business can mitigate privacy risk and build resilience, it can then focus on the opportunities brought by change.
